Charity Moore is an enrolled Yurok Tribal Member and a lineal descendant of the Tolowa Dee-Ni'. Born and raised amidst the majestic redwoods, pristine rivers, and coastal waters of Del Norte County in Northern California, Charity Moore’s life and work are deeply intertwined with the natural world and ancestral traditions.
As a multifaceted creator, Charity Moore finds expression as a children's author, silversmith, and traditional abalone cutter. Beyond artistic pursuits, Charity Moore is dedicated to cultural preservation and land-based practices, regularly gathering acorns, seaweed, and materials for traditional basket-making. A proud parent of two, Charity Moore focuses on passing down these vital cultural traditions and deep reverence for the environment to the next generation.
