About

Charity Moore is an enrolled member of the Yurok Tribe and a lineal descendant of the Tolowa Dee-Ni’. Raised in Del Norte County, Northern California, she draws inspiration from the region’s redwood forests, rivers, and coastal waters, as well as her cultural heritage.

A children’s author, silversmith, and traditional abalone cutter, Charity expresses her creativity through several forms of art. She also gathers acorns, seaweed, and materials for traditional basket-making, continuing practices that connect her to the land and her ancestors.

As a parent of two, Charity values sharing these traditions with the next generation and nurturing a lasting respect for the natural world.
